Story
This year marks the 10 year anniversary of my brother in law's death, so my beautiful wife wanted to set herself a challenge to mark this occasion. Running has majorly helped her with her journey through grief and as such is running her first trail marathon and I am running my first 25km trail run.
Penny and Jules (brother in law) grew up near Bristol and my brother in law was found on the outskirts of Bath. The date was the day before he died , so it was like it was meant to be!
Every year, one in four of us will experience a mental health problem and suicide is the highest cause of death in men under the age of 40! That is why we are supporting Mind a charity close to our hearts.
And when I say we..... Penny is joined by her long term running partner Julie Cox for the Marathon (she's done a few so will be her rock for this one I'm sure). Joining me for the 25km run is our son Jack and two of our good friends from Uni, Milly & Tara. Then joining us from afar will be our other son Fred, who is running his stint in New Zealand.
Please support us by donating whatever you can. A donation of:
£10 - could pay for 100 people to receive Mind's information booklets. Giving them trusted mental health information when they need it most.
£20 - could pay for 2 calls to Mind's Infoline which offers people trusted support and advice from highly trained advisors.
£32 - could keep Side by Side open for 1 hour. Side by Side is Mind’s moderated online community where anyone can join, talk and find support 24/7. It’s a safe place to connect with others who understand what you’re going through.
Thank you.
