Story
Hi everyone,
This summer I'm joining the Boston Public Library Fund's Summer Readathon, "Unearth Your Story." I'm setting a personal reading goal and spending the season digging into books I've been meaning to get to, plus a few I'd never pick on my own (more on that below).
When you sponsor my reading, you're supporting the BPL Fund's work to get books, programs, and learning into the hands of young readers across Boston's neighborhoods. Summer is when a lot of kids lose ground without access to reading, and this is a direct way to help close that gap.
Here's the fun part: donate $25 or more and you get to assign me a book. Anything you want. A childhood favorite, something you think I should've read by now, the weirdest thing on your shelf. I'll read it and report back. If several people chip in at that level, my summer reading list is officially out of my hands.
How it works:
You donate. Any amount helps me hit my goal. At $25 and up, you also pick a title I have to read.
I read. Since I'm challenging myself to raise $2,000 this summer, that's ~80 hypothetical books I'd have to read. Of any length. Gulp.
We make a difference. Together we help make sure young readers in Boston have the books and programs that keep them learning all summer long.
Thanks for digging in with me.
