Story
At just 2 years old, our Magnus was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia called JMML. His cancer may have been rare, but childhood cancer is not—and neither are the lasting side effects. Every year, more than 400,000 children worldwide hear the words “you have cancer.” Yet in the last 30 years, only seven new treatments have been developed specifically for children. Our kids deserve better.
Magnus' only treatment option was a bone marrow transplant, which he underwent at age 3 and he spent 18 months in the hospital. We are so grateful he is here today, but his journey continues. Survival can bring its own lifelong challenges: 95% of survivors experience long-term side effects from their treatments and Magnus is not immune from this.
This September, during Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month, we are “fluttering” to spread awareness and raise funds for research. Please help us continue this awareness by supporting our efforts.
All funds raised will go to Unravel Pediatric Cancer, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to bridge the gap in funding for pediatric cancer research. Unlike typical grant models, Unravel provides unrestricted funds to innovative researchers, removing barriers and accelerating the development of safer, more effective, and less toxic treatments.
Thank you for honoring Magnus and standing with kids everywhere.
