The greatest half marathon in the world. For the last 85 years, Diabetes UK has been at the forefront of diabetes research. We've discovered how to put type 2 diabetes into remission and were working day in, day out to find a cure.

Story

Hello! We're Kat Welch and Nia Jameson, and we're running the Great North Run to raise money for Diabetes UK.

We're taking on this challenge together to support and motivate each other, have an adventure in the beautiful city of Newcastle, and (we hope!) raise double the amount of cash for this important cause. We're running in support of our friend Jen, who chose to support Diabetes UK to remember her husband Ian. Ian lived with type 1 diabetes from a young age, and all funds raised from this challenge will be donated to Diabetes UK in his memory.

Please support our challenge if you can by hitting the donate button on our profile page.
