Story
This summer, Grover and I will volunteer at the Wendt Center’s Camp Forget‑Me‑Not/Camp Erin DC — a free grief camp for children and their families in the DC area.
The camp offers fun activities in a supportive, healing environment for children ages 6–17 who are grieving the death of someone they love. It gives kids a safe space to be themselves, explore their feelings, and realize they are not alone. The Wendt Center has provided invaluable support to us in our own grief journey after losing our dear Nate in January 2023.
Trained volunteers provide one‑on‑one support, and licensed therapists lead therapeutic groups tailored to each age group. Caregivers are also included, recognizing that grief touches the whole family.
Since 1999, more than 1,400 children have attended Camp Forget‑Me‑Not/Camp Erin DC at no cost. Please join me in making this life‑changing experience possible for grieving kids and their families by donating today.
