Overlook Foundation Junior Board: Taking Cardiology to Heart

Kimberly Pritchett is raising money for Overlook Foundation
The all-new Wilf Family Cardiology Center and Kevin E. Bell, MD Critical Care Unit (CCU) will open this year at Overlook Medical Center, recognized by Healthgrades® as one of ‘America’s 50 Best Hospitals’ for clinical quality.

Story

In the United States, heart disease is the leading cause of death for men, women, and people of most racial and ethnic groups. In fact, one person dies every 33 seconds from cardiovascular disease. In Overlook’s cardiac catheterization labs, physicians can detect blockages or abnormalities of the heart’s blood vessels, arteries, valves, and chambers, and perform angioplasties, echocardiograms, and pacemaker implantations. And now the hospital’s state-of-the-art cardiology center will feature single rooms that offer intensive, intermediate, and standard acute care without moving patients. For those whose conditions are not stable enough for transfer to a regular hospital room, the new CCU will provide the highest level of medical monitoring and care around the clock.
