By nature I am a giver, and I absolutely love being able to utilize my gift

of giving as an employee of the YMCA.

Currently I am a Site Director, a Camp Counselor, a Child Care Specialist,

and a Zumba Instructor. With so many different titles and positions, I

have the joy of engaging effectively and productively with my co-

workers, our members, and the kiddos. I also have the opportunity to

implement my degree in Early Childhood Education, as well by being involved hands-on with the kiddos under my care.

The Y for me is a home away from home. To know that staff, members,

and the kiddos become excited and overjoyed just by my presence is

heartwarming. Their responses to my gift of giving allows me to interact

with them conductively, while catering to their needs.

It is refreshing to know and witness the Y's diversity that

allows everyone to feel welcome. Working for the YMCA is

more than just a job. It’s more than just teaching classes. I get to give

back. I get to make other peoples day just a little bit better, and I have

the privilege and the opportunity to connect and build healthy

relationships as well.
