Story
In 2022 I was looking for ways to shake things up due to SEVERE levels of Pandemic Burnout®
I was introduced to the wonderful Dr. Neal Stretch and International Needs Canada and joined a medical aid tour to Solwezi, Zambia. I was part of a group of 18 that provided medical care for nearly one thousand individuals - students of the school, parents of the students, and residents of the local community. I learned so much from my team, the people to whom we provided care, and about myself. We wanted to leave a lasting legacy from our trip and as a team committed to funding the school's lunches for the following year, at which time the school would have a self sustaining program (through farming and other activities they had developed). We also left behind medications and supplies in the hopes that the local and national government would fund an ongoing locally run medical clinic.
Well, it's official. We are headed back to Zambia in October 2024! We are focused on making that clinic a reality this time. This time I'm also much more involved in the planning phase ensuring the medications we bring meet our needs and there is no excess or waste.
I'm aiming to raise $5700 for this trip and I'm reaching out to my friends and family for support. Any help you can offer would mean a lot. Thanks for your help!
Thank you so much!
