Story
Drop Zone is my chance to do something bold, exciting, and a little bit daring—all while being part of something that truly matters. It’s the kind of experience that gets your heart racing, your team cheering, and leaves you feeling proud long after your feet are back on the ground.
What makes it even more powerful is knowing that every step over the edge supports Camp Tidnish—a one-of-a-kind, fully accessible overnight camp where people of all ages with disabilities can experience independence, build confidence, and feel a true sense of belonging. For many, it’s the one place where there are no barriers—just opportunity, friendship, and unforgettable moments.
That’s what makes the experience so incredible—it’s not just about the thrill, it’s about being part of something bigger!
This will be my third year participating in the Drop Zone Challenge. I have a child who uses the services of Easter Seals Nova Scotia, and everyone we have encountered at ESNS has been incredibly loving, welcoming, inclusive, and supportive of our sweet almost 6-year-old. We have been met with creativity and a can-do attitude for how everyone can participate.
I have a huge fear of heights, and I have learned that rappelling down this building takes a great deal of emotional and physical strength.
This is just like the strength that Frankie and all the kids and adults like them demonstrate every day when navigating a world that is full of barriers for them.
Please join me in fundraising for this incredible organization and supporting the work they do for people with disabilities across Nova Scotia.
