Laura's 40th Birthday fundraiser for The Brain Tumour Charity

Royal Parks Half Marathon 2024 · 13 October 2024 ·
Hello,
I’m Laura and I have the privilege of turning 40 this year. As part of this milestone I have set myself the challenge to run the Royal Parks Half Marathon and I hope to raise some much needed money for The Brain Tumour Charity.
In October 2023 I was shocked to discover that a lump on my head was in-fact a benign tumour. In December 2023 I had a surgery called a craniotomy to remove that tumour and a titanium plate to replace part of my skull.
During this time it was The Brain Tumour Charity that provided a great source of information and a chance to connect with people going through similar. See below for some more information about the charity.
Running has been a huge part of my recovery both mentally and physically and I feel very lucky to be able to challenge myself like this.
My tumour was stupidly rare so don’t know how it will behave in future but I’m thankful for the medical team that treated me and those researching these tumours.
