Story
This year I’ll be running the New York City Marathon with Tina's Wish, an organization dedicated to funding research for the early detection and prevention of ovarian cancer.
I am excited to participate in this event and honored to do so as part of a team raising money and awareness for a foundation that hits close to home. We lost my grandmother over ten years ago to ovarian cancer that was detected at an advanced stage. What initially seemed hopeful quickly changed and we lost her shortly after being diagnosed.
My grandma and I were kindred spirits. I have never felt more seen or understood by anyone and she always encouraged my endeavors. I will be dedicating this race to her.
I’m looking forward to carrying her spirit and memory with me across the finish line while also knowing that I’m running for something much greater than myself.
