Story

Mahonuthan Jeeva (27-Jun-2005 – 6-Jun-2025), lovingly known as Maho, was a courageous and radiant soul who faced life with unshakable strength and positivity. Born with Ataxia-Telangiectasia (A-T)—a rare genetic disorder affecting neuromuscular function, immunity, and cancer risk—Maho never let his condition define him. He completed his high school diploma at Clements High School in Sugar Land and was pursuing his passion for marine biology through the American Museum of Natural History.

Maho needed a wheelchair to walk at the age of 7 and required g-tube feeding by age 10. Yet every day, he rose to battle like a warrior in the Trojan war and reigned with quiet valor, courage, and wisdom. He found joy and passion in his iPad, YouTube channels, game consoles, and Nintendos. While Maho bravely overcame his first lymphoma ten years ago, he tragically lost the battle to a second one.

Despite the pain, he never complained. He brightened every room with his instant smile, supported his two younger sisters with love, and remained the cherished heart of his family. His life, though brief, was filled with deep meaning, resilience, and the kind of spirit that leaves a lasting impact on everyone he met.

It is profoundly unfair for Maho and other A-T children to endure such short, painful lives shaped by an unforgiving fate. We must find a cure. In honor of Maho, we ask for your support to improve and increase the research funding needed to cure A-T. Please consider donating to the A-T Children’s Project (ATCP) in his memory.
