Story
In light of the current cuts in government funds to food programs in our area and nationwide, local food banks and pantries are going to be picking up the slack and facing higher than usual demands especially with the upcoming holidays. We are hoping to raise funds to provide much needed food assistance in our community in the coming months. Giving money to a food bank is often more effective than donating food because monetary donations allow food banks to buy food in bulk at lower prices, provide fresh and most needed items. A dollar can stretch further in monetary donations compared to the retail price of a single food item, and it provides flexibility to purchase what is most needed at any given time. Virtual food drives like this one, bring people together to fight hunger, no matter the circumstances. This Virtual food drives help your donation go further and feed more people. If you are able to give pleae do any amount helps. Food donations to your local food pantry are also always appreciated.
