Story
Hello Family and Friends!
I recently joined Friends Life Community (FLC), and I’m excited to be a part of it!
After high school, Lipscomb’s IDEAL Program, and four years at Kroger, I joined Friends Life Community after touring and meeting the open, welcoming, friendly, supportive staff. I felt this would be a great opportunity for me to join a community where i could socialize, make friends, and feel connected.
FLC Weekday Program
The Weekday Program helps people like me build confidence, form friendships, and work toward personal goals through group learning and community-based classes.
We also get to choose activities that matter to us, including:
• Life Skills
• Service Learning & Employment
• Advocacy Through the Arts
FLC Community program is all about becoming more independent, learning to speak up for ourselves, and finding fulfillment in everyday life.
Friends Life Community Program Mission
To provide adults with developmental disabilities the opportunities to grow personally, develop socially, and enjoy community as they experience life together
"On this day of giving, FLC would like to invite you to help continue the story-for friends of today and for those nearing the next chapter beyond high school".
How FLC Is Helping Me Grow
I’ve already felt encouraged to explore my interests and work toward goals like:
• Building confidence
• Strengthening self-advocacy
• Developing essential life skills
2026 FLC Friendship Day
On this special day of giving is centered around the theme: “Everyone has a story.” “Our goal as an organization is to raise $150,000 in one day”!
FLC invites you to help continue the story—for current participants and for those preparing for their next chapter beyond high school.
“$50 helps write a chapter of connection through a shared meal—where Friends cook, laugh, learn, and grow together.
$150 adds a page of creativity—where Friends express their stories through art, building confidence and connection.
$250 keeps the story moving—providing rides that open doors to community, experiences, and friendships.
$500 brings characters together supporting a social circle where Friends connect, grow, and belong.
$1,000 writes a full chapter—supporting a month of experiences filled with joy, growth, and meaningful connection.”
I would really appreciate your support with donating, sharing this post, or offering encouragement. Every bit makes a difference in helping programs like Friends Life continue and grow.
Thank you so much for your support and for being a part of my journey!
