Story

I'm running (and walking!) the London Marathon on the 21st April. This is a picture of Tony Hudgell who we surprised at The Daily Mirror's Pride Of Britain Awards on ITV back in 2020, with The GMB Young Fundraiser Of The Year Award... handed to him by Ant & Dec no less! And it was well deserved since Tony walked 10km on prosthetic legs and raised £1.5milion for the team who once saved his life at Evelina Children's Hospital. While I can never match Tony's incredible fundraising achievements, I'm hoping that by attempting the upcoming marathon, I can at least do my bit for the Evelina Children's Charity, who were there for Tony and continue to support over a 100,000 other kids during the toughest of times. In fact over the years, while filming some of ITV's fundraising & awareness TV shows, I've seen first-hand how Evelina provides toys, books, games, kit & equipment; giving children a much-needed distraction and escape during treatment & recovery. I gave Tony's mum Paula a quick call to catch-up, and let her know I'm running for Evelina, and she gave me permission to use Tony's picture (Thank you Paula!), and I'm sending Tony my very best wishes after recovering from his recent surgery. Thank you to anyone who may be able to sponsor me! Matt Coxy x
