Story
In March 2026, I’ll be taking on the HYROX race to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support — a challenge that means a lot to me.
I’m doing this in memory of my wonderful Dad. He was kind, clever, and always looking out for others. He inspired my love of sport and movement, encouraged me to volunteer with Riding for the Disabled, and ultimately shaped my career as a physiotherapist — where I see every day how exercise can heal the mind and body.
Dad was diagnosed with metastatic cancer in 2014 and given less than two years to live. Through sheer willpower and lifestyle changes, he gave us 11 more precious years. In his final year, when he became paralysed by cancer, I saw firsthand the importance of care, advocacy, and support for people living with this disease.
I’m running the mixed doubles HYROX in his honour — to celebrate his spirit, give back, and support Macmillan in the amazing work they do to ensure everyone living with cancer gets the care and compassion they need.
💚 We all deserve to live life to the fullest. 💚
I’ve pledged to raise £1,000, and any support means so much.
Here’s what your donations could do:
£10 – 10 copies of Macmillan’s Help with the Cost of Cancer booklet
£20 – One session of emotional support from a Macmillan Buddy
£39 – Fund a Macmillan Nurse for an hour
Every little bit helps. You can support me by donating, sharing your fundraising ideas, or even sending a message to keep me motivated during training.
