Story
This year, I’m running the NYC Half Marathon on March 15, 2026, for something much bigger than a finish line. I’m raising money for Frost Valley and The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM), two organizations working together to ensure that children facing serious medical challenges can experience the joy and freedom of summer camp, completely free of charge.
Frost Valley holds a special place in my heart. I started there as a camper in the 80's, grew into a CIT, then a counselor, and eventually a program director. As an adult, I returned as an educator and later for family camp with my own family. Now I get to watch my children experience summers at Frost Valley. It is a place that builds confidence, resilience, independence, and lifelong belonging. It is our home away from home.
Frost Valley’s summer camp program offers children the simple magic of being kids in the outdoors, something every child deserves, regardless of medical or financial circumstance. As the Bronx's largest health system, CHAM sees itself as an engine for social good, operating under the ethos that healthcare access should be equitable. They are proud to serve as a model for urban healthcare systems nationwide, and this partnership with Frost Valley is a powerful example of that mission in action.
I am aiming to raise $1,500 to provide financial assistance to send pediatric patients to summer camp at Frost Valley through this partnership. Thank you for caring for those in need and for helping turn miles into meaningful impact. 💛
