Story

On the 10th March 2020, the beautiful Brodie Morgan tragically took her own life

Brodie was 16 years old and was a bubbly, loving and gorgeous person inside and out. She wanted nothing but to bring happiness to the people around her and she lit up every room with her contagious personality.

Brodie excelled in everything she did. She was a straight A student but was also extremely sporty and could turn her hand to anything. From being a successful Showjumper to competing in numerous athletics competitions where she was pretty much unbeatable in the hurdles race. I am no where near as athletic as she was and the thought of running 26.2 miles makes me feel a bit sick but I knew this challenge would be the perfect way to remember her.

In October 2020 I entered London Marathon ballot for the first time. I told Brodies wonderful mum Emma and we were both excited about it because I was clueless about how hard it is to get in😂 when the ballot came through and it was a no I was gutted but I’ve entered every year since and this year I am very lucky to have gotten a charity space with Mind which means I need to raise £2500 before the big day. In 2023 3 million people got involved in minds “time to talk day” and had conversations about their mental health and how they were feeling. I am truly honoured to be running under their name.

Since Brodies death her wonderful mum Emma Webb set up #doitforbrodie. This hashtag has provided massive awareness for mental health thanks to Emma’s brilliant fundraising tasks and constant effort to raise awareness and show support. Emma walked from Newport all the way to London while towing a life size horse last year and raised over £50,000. Her next big challenge is another long walk with her 4 legged friend in tow. please type in the hashtag or visit www.doitforbrodie.co.uk  to read more about Brodies story, her incredible Mum Emma and to have a sneak peak into the next big challenge “Hack to Hoys”

If you’ve made it this far, Thankyou, I know I’m a rambler. For anyone that knows me they’ll know this will not be an easy completion but I’m determined to get across that finish line and I know Brods will be with me every step of the way

Any donations would be greatly appreciated and would be going towards helping someone in need. No amount is too small and every little helps.

Lastly always remember to tell your friends you love them, check in and be kind to the people around you…. Words really do matter and they can really hurt

This is for you Brods 💙💛
