Story
I chose to serve with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps (JVC) because I feel deeply called to live a life rooted in justice, compassion, and community. Over the past few years, I’ve worked in a residential treatment center for youth, studied counseling and applied psychological science, and volunteered with my church’s youth group. Through those experiences, I’ve seen the pain that so many people carry but I’ve also witnessed the healing that happens when someone shows up consistently with empathy and love. JVC gives me the chance to keep showing up.
This year, I’ll be serving full-time in Los Angeles, living in intentional community with other volunteers, and working directly with people affected by systemic injustice. I’m committing to a lifestyle of simplicity, spirituality, community, and social justice, because I believe these values aren’t just ideals — they’re how we build a better world. JVC isn’t just a program for me; it’s a way to live out my faith, challenge my comfort zones, and grow into the kind of person I hope to be: someone who listens deeply, acts justly, and loves boldly.
Your support means the world to me — whether through prayers, encouragement, or donations. Thank you for helping me take this step.
