Story
I am delighted to have the opportunity to fundraise for Easter Seals Nova Scotia. Easter Seals provides programming, services, and advocacy for people with disabilities including, near and dear to my heart, Camp Tidnish. As someone who grew up spending my summers at camp on the other side of the country, I was beyond excited to later work at Camp Tidnish during my first summer on the East Coast.
At Camp Tidnish, barriers do not exist, because if there is a will, there is a way. Its campers, who notably never age out of the program, unlike many disability services that limit “fun” programming to childhood, get to experience everything that makes camp special: swimming, boat rides, singing around the campfire, playing games, and so much more.
I am thrilled to be giving back to an organization that does so much for its community, and to a camp that taught me so much. The rappelling is a pretty great bonus too.
