I've been volunteering with Girl Scouts since 2002. When I first started, I thought that it was mostly cookies and crafts. This is a common misconception that I've heard over the years. Not only does Girl Scouts provide a wide variety of opportunities such as backpacking, STEM activities, career exploration, and the arts, it gives ALL girls a space to be themselves and grow. Making the world a better place aren't just words in Girl Scouts, it's an active part of what it means to be a Girl Scout.
