Story
Running the New York City Marathon has been a lifelong dream of mine, and I’m incredibly honored to be doing it in support of a cause that’s deeply personal to me: mental health.
As a resident physician specializing in psychiatry, I witness every day how profoundly mental health affects people’s ability to meet their basic needs, live the life they envision, and pursue their goals. Unfortunately, the mental health and social services fields remain critically underfunded — which is why I’ve chosen to dedicate my race to raising both awareness and support for this essential cause.
I’m running with and fundraising for the Family and Children's Association (FCA), a nonprofit committed to protecting and empowering Long Island’s most vulnerable individuals and communities. FCA provides a wide range of services, including:
- Mental health and youth services
- Substance use and addiction support
- Family and caregiver support
- Senior and adult care
- Immigrant services
- Residential and emergency shelters
- Community outreach and advocacy
As the number of Long Islanders turning to FCA for help continues to grow, the support of people like you makes a real difference. Whether it’s through donations, spreading the word, or simply cheering me on, your involvement helps improve lives.
I’m proud to be running as an FCA Athlete — using my miles to advocate for those who need it most. Thank you for being part of this journey with me!
