Story
Earlier this year, our daughter Paloma suffered a devastating injury while playing in a baby pool in Punta Mita, Mexico. An uncovered pool drain caused an evisceration injury, resulting in the loss of most of her small intestine. Thanks to the extraordinary team at UPMC Children’s Hospital—especially the caregivers on unit 7B (Transplant/Intestincal Care)—Paloma is still with us, and being treated with 12 hours of IV nutrition/day to keep her strong while we wait for medical advancements or determine that she will need a transplant.
In honor of Paloma and to thank the floor that saved her life, we’re raising funds for the 7B pantry— which we will call Paloma’s Pantry, a small but mighty resource that supports families during the hardest moments of their lives. If you’ve ever been touched by the kindness of a hospital team or want to help families in crisis, we’d be grateful for your support.
For Paloma. For 7B. Because sometimes, a simple snack from the pantry is a lifeline—a small comfort when everything else feels out of control.
