Story
This year marks the 10 year anniversary of my brothers death, so I wanted to set myself a challenge to mark this occasion. Running has majorly helped me with my journey through grief so what better challenge than to attempt my first ever marathon! (Well it sounded like a good idea 😝).
When I saw the Bristol to Bath trail it was like it was meant to be, we grew up near Bristol and my brother was found on the outskirts of Bath. The date was the day before he died , so it was like it was meant to be!
Every year, one in four of us will experience a mental health problem and suicide is the highest case of death in men under the age of 40! That is why we are supporting Mind a charity close to our hearts.
And when I say we..... I am delighted ❤️ to be joined by my long term running partner Julie Cox for the Marathon (she's done a few so will be my rock for this one I'm sure). Joining the madness for the 25km run is husband Jules, son Jack and two of my bestest friends from Uni, Milly & Tara. Then joining us from afar is our other son Fred, who is running his stint in New Zealand. Also supporting us with cheers and refreshments will be my lovely parents.
Please support us by donating whatever you can. A donation of:
£10 - could pay for 100 people to receive Mind's information booklets. Giving them trusted mental health information when they need it most.
£20 - could pay for 2 calls to Mind's Infoline which offers people trusted support and advice from highly trained advisors.
£32 - could keep Side by Side open for 1 hour. Side by Side is Mind’s moderated online community where anyone can join, talk and find support. 24/7. It’s a safe place to connect with others who understand what you’re going through.
Thank you.
