I joined the Board of University Settlement about a year and a half ago. Every day, I learn more about this amazing organization. I am proud to work with my fellow board members to support the impressive team of over 500+ dedicated professionals that are out there, right now serving our community and making it stronger.

For those of us who are fortunate enough to have extra resources to give at this time of year, and with so many urgent issues crying out for our attention, the question of “where to begin” looms large.

For me, any answer to that question emphasizes starting from the ground up and prioritizing the very people that our broader policies are failing. And no one does a better job in our city serving the needs of our neighbors than University Settlement. They’ve been doing it for nearly 140 years.
