I'm taking on the 2025 London Marathon for The Brain Tumour Charity

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·
I'm going to be taking on the world's most famous 26.2 miles on Sunday 27 April for The Brain Tumour Charity. By running for The Brain Tumour Charity, I'm playing a huge part in The Charity's movement to help people with brain tumours live longer and better lives.
The Brain Tumour Charity doesn't only resonate with me because of their mission and incredible impact for brain tumour patients and their families, it also strikes a personal chord for my family.
My Dad, Paul, was an avid runner, knowing the local Barnet routes on the back of his hand. I occasionally joined him for Parkrun together at Oak Hill Park, and what was certainly a struggle for me (and getting overtaken by 8 year old girls) was the complete opposite for my Dad, breezing past fellow runners like a pro!
My Dad was diagnosed with a glioblastoma in 2019, after a seizure. After surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, Dad's medical team told us the inconsolable news of not having anything else they could do to help.
Taken far too soon from us in January 2020, my Dad should have been able to enjoy his retirement volunteering at the local vineyard, watching West Ham, and running.
So when I found out in June 2024 that I was one of the successful London Marathon ballot entries, I knew it was a sign to run for my Dad, and run for all brain tumour patients and their families currently enduring this horrible disease.
I would be over the moon if you could donate to such a fantastic cause.
Love to you all,
Phil
