Story
This January, I’m taking on HYROX to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support — a charity that has meant a huge amount to my family this past year.
Almost one year ago, my dad underwent robotic surgery to remove his prostate and begin his road to recovery. In early January he’ll have his one-year check-up, and after two promising blood tests we’re hoping he’ll be officially signed off — fingers crossed.
The team at the Lister were incredible throughout his treatment and recovery, and we wanted to give something back. I’m aiming to raise £400, which could run the Macmillan Support Line for nearly an hour — providing vital support to people living with cancer when they need it most.
📖 £10 could pay for 10 copies of our Help with the cost of cancer booklet.
📱 £20 could provide one session of emotional support to a person living with cancer with a Macmillan Buddy.
💚 £39 could pay for a Macmillan Nurse for 1 hour.
More than 3.5 million people in the UK are currently living with cancer. Macmillan can only continue their essential work thanks to donations from people who choose to support them.
Any contribution — big or small — would mean a lot to me, to my dad, and to everyone Macmillan helps every single day.
Thanks,
Phil
