Story
Our story started November 2009 when our daughter Addison was born at just 24 weeks gestation. She weighed 1lb 9oz. We of course were aware of preemies but not so much micro-preemies. I could go on and on about the care we received from st johns NICU the 4.5 months we were there. All the nurses were incredibly understanding and kind as we were welcomed into our new world. We would not be where we are today without st johns NICU. And with them being right in Springfield, IL it was a doable trip to make from our home about 45 min away.
We ended up back in the NICU for a short 30 days when our youngest son Wyatt decided to bless us early as well. He came at 31 weeks weighing 3lb1oz. To be reunited with some of the same nurses and staff it was nice to see some familiar faces the 2nd time around. It was also not quite as scary.
Words will never be enough to express our gratitude for saving both our kiddos. We know they would not be here today without them.
