Hello again, it’s me, Rachel Mattingly, one of the estimated almost 200,000 women living with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. This will be my second year that I’ve been fortunate enough to participate in the Superhero Walk and I could not be more blessed to be a part of it.

When I was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020, and then diagnosed with metastasis to my liver and bones in 2022, I honestly never thought I would still be here writing about a tiny part of my journey. It has been a whirlwind of ups and downs. Things I could never have imagined experiencing, I’ve experienced. The pain, the heartache of the unknown, watching my family’s smiles slowly fade with even the slightest bad news. But…even with bad news,there is usually always something good to follow. My friends and family are my backbone. The nurses and doctors give me hope. The Lord is there every time I bow my head for direction and peace. This fundraiser will give so many more hope. This walk can help patients that don’t have the simplest of things receive what they need.

Please consider helping others in their fight against cancer. This disease throws so many curveballs whether emotional or financial.
