Hi, my name is Riley Weisenthal and for my mitzvah project I will be making my grandmas famous cookies and selling them to raise money to send a child (or 2) to camp.

When I was younger I would always help my grandma bake her cookies. She never liked to share her recipe because she didn't want anyone else making them. When she passed she left her recipe with my Aunt and I have spent the last year practicing and perfecting her chocolate chip cookies.

I chose this as my mitzvah project because I wanted to feel like she was a part of my Bat Mitzvah. I am choosing to donate all the money to SCOPE because my grandma loved camp and sending a child to camp would make her happy. Camp was her happy place and I know she would want a child to have the chance to experience camp. SCOPE provides children from economically disadvantaged families with life-changing opportunities at overnight summer camp to help them to thrive and grow at camp and beyond.

She passed when I was only 9 and I miss her everyday. I have my baking sheets ready, boxes to ship and now all I need is some orders.
