Story
On the 23-26 July, I will be taking part in the London to Paris cycle ride in memory of my fiancé Rebecca (Bex) Clarkson who sadly lost her battle with Leukaemia in 2023.
Bex was my best friend and soulmate and not a day goes by without me missing her and the wonderful life we had together.
Throughout her illness, she was brave and her courage was inspirational to all that knew her.
The event takes place over 4 days covering over 300 miles so will definitely be a big challenge!
Many people battling Leukeamia rely on support from charities like Leukaemia Care.
Bex was passionate about helping others battling with Leukeamia which is why I have chosen Leukaemia Care as my charity to support in her memory.
Donations received will be used by Leukaemia Care to support people impacted by the illness to receive the best treatment, support and advice possible.
Bex would also be encouraging people to give blood and for under 50's to register as a stem cell donor. Registering as a stem donor only requires a simple mouth swab and is not an invasive process like most people think.

London to Paris complete!
On Saturday the 26-July, I successfully competed my London to Paris bike ride. Over 300 miles in 4 days was a big challenge for me but I wanted to push myself outside of my comfort zone and do something that would hopefully raise a good amount of money for the charity. I met some amazing people during the trip that also had their own stories and some I even now class as friends 🙂
My goals for the trip was to obviously complete it, raise money for Leukaemia Care but also to keep Bex’s memory alive and make her proud of me - I’m pretty sure I’ve achieved all these goals 🙂
It was tough arriving at the finish line but I know she was there with me to share the moment 🙂
Thanks so much to everyone who sponsored me. The money raised with be a massive help to the charity, and will go towards helping people affected my condition and provide them with the support they need ❤️
Rob 🙂
Did you know that the UK leukaemia survival rate lags behind that in Europe? We know that with earlier diagnosis, we can close this gap so we’re asking you to take on this epic challenge to help fund our early diagnosis work. The aim of the tour is honestly that simple, but we’re also focused on making the tour as much fun as possible!
Leukaemia Care is a national charity dedicated to ensuring that anyone affected by blood cancer receives the right information, advice and support. Around 34,000 people are affected by blood cancer each year in the UK and we're here to support them through their diagnosis, treatment and beyond.
