Story
Greetings.
As some of you may know, my family unexpectedly lost my eldest sister in May 2023, a few weeks before I joined Global Affairs. In her memory, I found my running shoes after a long COVID snack break and ran the Ottawa Army Run half marathon in 2024. I raised $4500 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation thanks to the kindness of friends, family, colleagues, and the cash at that liquor store I knocked over.
Sadly, my sister’s husband/my brother-in-law passed away a month later in October 2024 while I was away for work in Vienna. Although I’m hopeful such memorials don't become a regular tradition, I will once again dust off the ol’ runners and take advantage of winter carb loading for the Ottawa Race Weekend half marathon this May.
I am aiming to raise at least as much as I did previously, this time for the Canadian Cancer Society, and will be personally matching $1500 of total donations. If you’re feeling generous and are able to support, or you simply enjoy the thought of me sweating and suffering for two hours in exchange for a small donation, please see the link below.
Thank you!
