Story
I don’t know anyone whose life hasn’t been affected by cancer. So on June 13th 2026, I’ll be riding in the Macmillan Ride of Their Lives race at York racecourse to raise as much money as I can for the brilliant, vital work of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Cancer afflicts so many of our nearest and dearest. I’ll never forget shaving my mother’s head after chemotherapy and sitting with her in the chemo treatment chair, hoping. Friends, family and colleagues are fighting cancer now. Macmillan Cancer Support is an exceptional charity and I’m delighted and honoured to support it.
The challenge ahead is huge. Getting jockey-fit is no mean feat. The months of dark, cold, early starts for the gallops are tough. Navigating 1 mile 1 furlong will be a learning curve. But I’m excited to take on this challenge and determined to raise as much as I can for Macmillan to support those affected by cancer.
Please help me towards the final furlong by donating whatever you can. Every pound really does make a difference to someone living with cancer. And please come along to York on June 13th for a cracking day out!
