Story
Newcastle Marrow and rugby ref Niall Head-Rapson have been working together to get as many students onto the stem cell register as possible.
Niall’s family has a personal connection to 2 year old Elijah, who has a rare form of leukaemia and urgently needs a stem cell transplant. Niall has been using his position within Rugby to share his story, encouraging players and spectators to follow Elijah’s campaign and sign up to the register.
Newcastle Marrow is a part of the network of lifesaving students who work with the blood cancer charity, Anthony Nolan. There are over 50 Marrow groups, with hundreds of student volunteers in universities across the country, who are all working towards one thing - saving the lives of people with blood cancer.
It costs Anthony Nolan £40 to add each new potential lifesaver onto their stem cell register. So together let’s ‘ruck up’ some donations and support those facing blood cancer and blood disorders.
