We decided to sign up to ride from Portland, Oregon, to Portland, Maine.

Most people would probably ask, “Why would anyone want to bike that far?”

The answer is simple: because we can.

And that is exactly why we want to raise awareness for the groups we have chosen to support.

The MACC Fund is one of those groups—and it’s truly special.

Founded in 1976 by Jon McGlocklin and Eddie Doucette, the MACC Fund has been relentlessly focused on funding research for childhood cancer and blood disorders. Since its inception, nearly $90 million has been contributed to research, helping improve cure rates from 20% to 85%.

That’s incredible progress.

And yet, there is still work to be done.

Beyond funding research, the MACC Fund supports children and families as they navigate the daily realities of treatment—the fear, the uncertainty, and the hope. Their impact reaches into hospitals, homes, and hearts across the region through partnerships with Children’s Wisconsin, the Medical College of Wisconsin, the UW Carbone Cancer Center, and the Marshfield Clinic.

For 50 years, they have been changing lives.

And they’re not done yet.
