Story
This September, I’m joining an inspiring fundraising campaign for Northwest Association for Blind Athletes (NWABA) as part of GiveMore24!, a powerful 24-hour giving day benefiting nonprofits across Southwest Washington.
NWABA provides life-changing opportunities through sports and physical activity for children, youth, and adults who are blind and visually impaired—and I’ve seen firsthand how deeply their work matters. Whether it’s the confidence of a child riding a tandem bike for the first time, or the pride of an athlete crossing a finish line, NWABA helps people thrive.
👉 Here’s why I’m fundraising for NWABA:
When I was new to blindness I assumed my active outdoor life was over. NWABA took me snowshoeing! I had a blast, but I also had an awakening. I wasn't dead. I was just blind. Water is my happy place. When NWABA gives me the opportunity to climb into a kayak and paddle myself around some beautiful lake, I have a freedom and independence that is hard to find anywhere else in my daily life.
Please help me thank NWABA for all their amazing staff, programming and life promoting opportunities.
