Story
Along with 7 other Honeywell mums, I'm challenging myself to complete a Hyrox on 24th March 2026.
If I'm honest, I didn't quite know what a Hyrox was when I agreed to sign up. I now know (only too well) that it's this...
In pairs (I'm on a team with Jen), we must run eight 1km runs (8km total) broken up by 1,000m on the SkiErg, a ridiculously heavy sled push (102kg) for 50m, an equally gruelling 50m sled pull (78kg), 80m of burpee broad jumps (which are as vile as they sound), a 1000m row, a 200m 'farmers carry' with 16kg kettlebells, 100m of walking lunges with a 10kg sandbag, and - if we're still able to move at this point - finishing up by shooting a 4kg ball at a 9ft target 100 times. We'll be running the whole distance together and sharing every rep and lift between us until it’s all complete.
What will keep us going is the money we hope to raise for an absolutely brilliant charity that has helped all of us or a loved one at some point in our lives already - Macmillan Cancer Support.
Please give whatever you can to get us through to the finish line.
xx
