Story
Hello!
In August I will be trekking to Mt Everest Base Camp with Choose a Challenge to raise money for WWF. With the global climate crisis worsening every day this is a charity I am particularly passionate about supporting, as WWF lies at the heart of global efforts to address the worlds most crucial environmental challenges; preserving fragile natural habitats, tackling climate change and enabling people to use only their fair share of natural resources.
We are as dependent on the dwindling natural habitats of our planet as the many endangered species living within them. Whilst habitats such as the worlds rainforests may seem like distant wildernesses, they are crucial life support systems not only for critically endangered species like Orangutans, but also for us as human beings. Tropical rainforests are the source of 25% of modern medicines and 2/3 of all cancer treatments, some of which have sadly already been wiped out by deforestation, for example the Madagascar periwinkle plant used to treat Leukaemia.
By supporting WWF we can work to preserve and restore the natural world and create a planet where people and nature can thrive together.
Any support you can give would be much appreciated!
