For the past (almost) 13 years, I have had the privilege of working at Volunteer Legal Advocates, formerly DC Volunteer Lawyers Project. I have had the great privilege of being the Executive Director for the past 6 years.

At Volunteer Legal Advocates, we believe that a life free of violence and abuse is a basic human right. We provide free legal and support services to survivors of domestic violence, immigrant survivors of gender-based violence, and children growing up with abuse, domestic violence, and other compounding layers of trauma. With government funding cuts looming and intimate partner violence on the rise, Volunteer Legal Advocates’ mission is more crucial than ever.

My goal is $3,065. This represents $1 for every adult and child we helped achieve safety and stability last year.
