Overlook Foundation Junior Board: Taking Cardiology to Heart

I am Sarah and I joined the Foundation because I wanted to help the hospital where I bring so many of my patients to as an EMT on the Summit First Aid Squad. As an EMT in my town, I have witnessed firsthand how heart-related problems have impacted individuals and families from all walks of life. Heart disease is the most common cause of death in America, but luckily it is also one of the vital organs we know most about. The likelihood of heart disease can be significantly lowered with proper diet and exercise starting from an early age, and we now have the technology to see where arteries are at risk of being blocked.
However, many heart conditions are also dependent on genetics and require medication or surgeries to treat. There is only so much that can be done when someone suffers from a heart attack in the back of an ambulance; the secret lies in preventative care.
This is why I am grateful for the opportunity to support the "Overlook Foundation Junior Board: Taking Cardiology to Heart" campaign. We are raising money to promote awareness and education about heart health in our community. Your support can help us make a difference by providing resources for preventative care initiatives that save lives.
I invite you to join me in this important cause. Together, we can take cardiology to heart and ensure a healthier future for everyone.
