Let's work together to keep the music playing! We broadcast across Alberta on 16 FM frequencies, including to rural areas without WiFi, and worldwide online. It costs almost $30,000 to broadcast each month. Help us cover one day by raising $1000!

Story

CKUA is not just a radio station; it’s a vibrant source of music, arts, and culture that enriches our lives. It serves as a sanctuary for independent artists from Alberta, Vancouver Island, and across Canada, providing them with a platform to share their unique voices. The playlists curated by CKUA's knowledgeable and passionate hosts introduce us to sounds we wouldn't encounter anywhere else. You can tune in live or catch up on demand at CKUA.com anytime you wish.

Did you know that CKUA has been an independent and donor-supported station for many years? While it began nearly 100 years ago at the University of Alberta, today, the majority of its operations rely on the generosity of listeners and supporters like you. CKUA plays a crucial role in bringing musical variety to rural areas across Alberta, especially where WiFi is scarce. However, maintaining the Alberta transmitter network and streaming services across all Canada and the world comes with a hefty price tag—around $30,000 each month!

This is where we can make a difference together. By supporting CKUA, we can help ensure that this incredible musical heritage resource continues to thrive and reach those who need it most - especially all of us out here on Vancouver Island streaming CKUA online!

Let’s come together to support the arts and keep CKUA streaming globally for the next 100 years!

Thank you for your generosity!
