Utah Food Bank is offering a donation match opportunity through August 7, thanks to generous support from the MNHRC Foundation. All donations designated for hunger relief efforts in San Juan and Grand counties will be matched dollar for dollar during the campaign.
Because of Utah Food Bank's purchasing power and partnerships, every $1 donated during the match will provide $14.46 worth of goods and services during this special timeframe.
Donations can be made online here, in person at Utah Food Bank Southeastern Distribution Center, or by mail.
Utah Food Bank opened its Southeastern Distribution Center and pantry in Blanding in 2024, along with pantries in Montezuma Creek and Monument Valley. Since the beginning of this year, San Juan County residents have made more than 42,000 visits to the three locations. The distribution center also supports food pantries serving Grand County.
Over the past year, Utah Food Bank distributed the equivalent of approximately 1.4 million meals throughout the region, highlighting the ongoing need for food assistance. An estimated 19% of residents in San Juan and Grand counties experience food insecurity, compared with 14% statewide. Among children, the rate rises to 25%, nearly double the statewide average.
