Story

As many of you may know, my loving mum Susie passed away in November 2022 after her long and brave battle with Leukaemia. Anyone who knew my mum, knows how long she fought for and how strong she was throughout.

After a long year of reflection following her passing, I wanted to do something not only to honour her memory, but importantly to raise money to assist those afflicted with the horrible disease. I'm choosing to run the Dublin marathon in October, something that is definitely out of my traditional wheelhouse if you know me well. I'm really looking forward to the challenge and I have already begun training last year to not only finish but to send it for Susie!

I'm going to personally match the donations raised up to £1000, with the money going towards the Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group. Mum would have preferred the money go to kids and their families, and it feels appropriate to fund the care and support of these kids and their families wherever possible. The thing that I learned while mum was unwell was not just how this disease impacts the patient, but also their family and friends, and it's something I wish I was able to be there more to support.

There is no pressure, no amount too small either. Whatever you can give would be incredible and I hope to do you all and mum proud in October.
