Story
Celebrate Mother’s Day with us on May 10th, 2026, for a special 5km run that gives back to the community. Run for Mom is a fun and meaningful way to honour all mothers while supporting the maternity department at Chilliwack General Hospital.
Whether you’re a runner, walker, or simply looking to show your support, this event is for you! All proceeds will go towards enhancing the hospital’s maternity care and services, helping ensure the best care for new and expecting mothers. Two critical pieces of equipment needed at Chilliwack General Hospital Maternity Department are a vein viewer ($9,000) and a fetal monitor ($35,000). A vein viewer is a medical device that uses near-infrared light to project a map of a patient's veins onto their skin for easier IV insertion or blood draws. A fetal monitor keeps track of a baby's heart rate during pregnancy, labour and delivery to detect signs of distress and assess the baby's well-being.
I also encourage you, as community members, to contact your MLA and city hall to demand more funding for our city! Chilliwack is one of the fastest growing populations in the country, and our hospital should reflect that. We desperately need a NICU and more maternity beds to support our community. Keep our families together in our town!
