Story
On June 20th, my husband Jack and myself, Sidonia, will be hosting the much anticipated annual Walk for Water.
We have been blessed with our property that allows walkers to enjoy the beauty of our acreage and then enjoy a lovely meal al fresco!
I’ll be walking 5km to raise funds for a life-changing water project in the village of Mana, Burkina Faso.
Mana faces extreme poverty and a harsh climate, with droughts lasting up to nine months each year. During the short rainy season, families collect rainwater, but for the rest of the year women and girls walk long distances daily to fetch water from rivers or shallow wells. These sources are often contaminated and can spread waterborne diseases. With no proper toilets in the village, sanitation challenges also contribute to polluted water sources and health risks.
By supporting my walk, you will help drill two boreholes and construct five latrines in Mana, providing reliable access to clean water and improved sanitation.
Thank you for your support!
