Through the vision of founder Ruby Bhandari and the support of dedicated partners and sponsors, the Silkthreads Annual Charity Gala has evolved into one of North Texas’ most distinctive independent charitable events—bringing together diverse cultures, inspiring leadership, and championing causes that transform lives.

Our beneficiary charity this year is the HungerMitao effort supporting food banks in North Texas.

HungerMitao is a nationwide volunteer-driven movement committed to ending hunger in America by raising awareness, engaging communities, and channeling donations and volunteer efforts through the Feeding America network of food banks. Since its inception on September 29, 2017, HungerMitao has enabled more than 80 million meals and contributed thousands of volunteer hours, supporting Feeding America and food banks in North Texas and across the United States in their mission to fight food insecurity.
