Great North Run 2025 · 7 September 2025 ·

The greatest half marathon in the world. For the last 85 years, Diabetes UK has been at the forefront of diabetes research. We've discovered how to put type 2 diabetes into remission and were working day in, day out to find a cure.

Story

I decided to challenge myself this year, after seeing a close friend complete the Great North Run last year for the Alzheimer’s Society, I decided I wanted to go for it too and raise money for Diabetes UK!

Diabetes UK is a cause that’s extremely close to my heart. I did Swim22 for a few years in memory of my auntie Becky who lived with Type 1 diabetes, we lost her 8 years ago and miss her very dearly, so when I decided to run for a charity, Diabetes UK was a no-brainer!

Diabetes and its different types is a difficult condition to manage and affects those who suffers with it as well as those close to them. Diabetes UK supports those living and managing diabetes as well as continually researching the condition in order to further help people living with it. Donations would be so very appreciated.

Anyone who knows me knows I’m not exactly a runner, but I’m up for the challenge, and raising some money on the way would be amazing!
