Story
Join us in supporting the 18th Annual SVdP Detroit Friends of the Poor Walk, a heartfelt initiative by the St. Irenaeus Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Detroit. Our mission is to bring hope and compassion to those facing hardship in our community, including the poor, homeless, and jobless. We believe that caring for those in need is one of the most Christ-like acts we can perform in this world.
This year’s Walk will take place on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. on Belle Isle in Detroit. Picture yourself walking through one of Michigan’s most scenic parks while enjoying lunch provided by Matchan Nutrition Center and music from local legend DJ Stacey "Hotwaxx" Hale, a true pioneer in Detroit's rich musical history.
We invite you to join us as we celebrate the beauty God has gifted us along the riverfront and share how your generous donations directly benefit those in need within our community and Pontiac. Our target is to raise $1,500 to continue our vital work. Please consider making a donation today to support this noble cause. Your kindness will be a powerful reflection of love and compassion that can change lives forever.
May God bless you abundantly for your generosity.
