Story
Stalen is an amazing 10 year old boy. Stalen is autistic and non-speaking. He started having digestive challenges in 2019 which included severe chronic constipation and slow motility. Stalen had a cecostomy for 18 months but it did not work for him. Stalen has been living with an ileostomy since January 2022. He certainly doesn’t let it stop him. He is living his best life with lots of swimming, learning to skate and play hockey, and jumping on the trampoline. Stalen loves to travel and go out in the community. He is thankful for the Ostomy that gave him his life back.

Ostomy Canada is gearing up for its 10th Step Up for Ostomy Campaign this year! Come join us on October 5, 2024, in cities, towns, parks, trails, and venues across Canada and show your support for those living with an ostomy, their friends and family. On that day we will walk, run, bike, hike, or whatever you like. Let’s all Step Up for Ostomy, to raise awareness, eliminate stigma and raise funds to help enhance Ostomy Canada Programs!
