I've now worked at World Ocean School for over 8 years, the primary focus of my "sailing era." It has been a joy to support transformative educational programs for hundreds of students from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences. There is something magical and empowering about learning and living on a historic sailing vessel.

For 40 years, I counted on older board and staff members to put themselves on the line when it came to fundraising for my organizations. It has come to my attention that now I am one of those old people. The pressure is on me to show up for my colleagues and constituents. Will you donate $40 for the years since I started working at Amigos de las Americas? Or, better, $65 in honor of my upcoming birthday?
